An Introduction & Other Things of Relevance

This is the face of a professional hat thief.
Hello, my name is Inari. It means Silver Fox. I'm of Irish and Native American descent. I was diagnosed at the age of 3 with high functioning autism and again at 13 years of age. Because my brain just operates differently, I tend to change direction very quickly in conversation or writing, expecting others to 'keep up' when in their mind there is no connection between where we were and where we are now. So let this serve as a broad general apology for when this undoubtedly happens in the future.

I'm deaf but can hear a little bit with the assistance of hearing aids. I can also read lips very well (updated 2007).

If there is one thing about me that you should definitely know it's that I am a huge geek. I love computers, video games, comic books, book books, Sci-fi and Fantasy. Star Trek, Starwars... you name it. I would rather play video games with friends than go out to a club and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

I can be pretty competitive, especially in gaming, but it's all in good fun. I can take a punch, and accept defeat, but don't expect me not to come back for a rematch in the future. I love intelligent discussion and even a friendly debate. I live to learn. The day you claim to have nothing left to learn is the day you've beaten life, gg.

I like the color orange, elephants, potatoes, purring kittens, and Xenogears is my favorite game. Though the countless hours spent playing Nights with Tali may suggest otherwise. I also play MMOs, though my name in them is never Inari. My analytical brain enjoys finding bugs and glitches in games. If you've played it, chances are I beta tested it. I love to laugh and make others laugh. I do this ^_^ a lot irl.

I grew up in Michigan, went to school in Ohio, lurked in Florida and currently live in California (updated 2009). I come from a family of artists, hard workers, and independent thinkers. I believe that only you can change how you feel and perceive those around you. Being happy, sad, or angry isn't someone else's choice, it's yours.

I'm mainly here to keep in touch with friends and family, though I certainly don't mind making new friends as well. Video game babble, day-to-day life talk, rants about random things, and updates regarding my health are all things you will find in abundance here. Topics will be both light-hearted and serious, if you're looking for pure comedy then you'll just have to wade through all the rest.
