As I'm sure even you nongamers are aware due to the news lately the retail release of the PS3 was cursed by more demand than there was supply. This was no shock as Sony told us all ahead of time exactly how many units would be available at launch. This however was both a curse and a blessing. A blessing in that we knew what to expect (long lines and possibly no PS3) but a curse by giving the greedy a heads up.
Many of the people who preordered or managed to get a launch day PS3 had no intentions of keeping the console for their own enjoyment, rather they had more sinister (albeit genius) plans. Their plan was to make a grotesque amount of money on this shortage buying PS3s for $600 each and reselling them on eBay for upwards of $1200 each.
This problem has increased as December approaches. A single PS3 going for more than $5000. It boggles my mind. Greed benefiting from some rich person's impatience perhaps? Who knows but it's ridiculous. I cannot imagine, under any circumstance paying more than $500 for a gaming console and this is coming from someone who has been known to live off of instant Ramen and vitamins to support her gaming habit.

|This is the face of a professional hat thief.|
I'm deaf but can hear a little bit with the assistance of hearing aids. I can also read lips very well (updated 2007).
If there is one thing about me that you should definitely know it's that I am a huge geek. I love computers, video games, comic books, book books, Sci-fi and Fantasy. Star Trek, Starwars... you name it. I would rather play video games with friends than go out to a club and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
I can be pretty competitive, especially in gaming, but it's all in good fun. I can take a punch, and accept defeat, but don't expect me not to come back for a rematch in the future. I love intelligent discussion and even a friendly debate. I live to learn. The day you claim to have nothing left to learn is the day you've beaten life, gg.
I like the color orange, elephants, potatoes, purring kittens, and Xenogears is my favorite game. Though the countless hours spent playing Nights with Tali may suggest otherwise. I also play MMOs, though my name in them is never Inari. My analytical brain enjoys finding bugs and glitches in games. If you've played it, chances are I beta tested it. I love to laugh and make others laugh. I do this ^_^ a lot irl.
I grew up in Michigan, went to school in Ohio, lurked in Florida and currently live in California (updated 2009). I come from a family of artists, hard workers, and independent thinkers. I believe that only you can change how you feel and perceive those around you. Being happy, sad, or angry isn't someone else's choice, it's yours.
I'm mainly here to keep in touch with friends and family, though I certainly don't mind making new friends as well. Video game babble, day-to-day life talk, rants about random things, and updates regarding my health are all things you will find in abundance here. Topics will be both light-hearted and serious, if you're looking for pure comedy then you'll just have to wade through all the rest.
